Day 14 in the ivf house

20 Feb

I am now on day 14 of the down regulating drugs, I take 50ml of buserelin (suprecur) via subcutaneous injection every morning at about 0715. The injections haven’t been too bad, the first one was quite funny and involved a lot of “I’m ready! Wait! Wait!….I’m ready! No, wait! Wait!” But you get used to it pretty quickly. Unfortunately the first injection gave me a massive bruise and I was quite worried that I was in store for bruises every day, but it seems that was just a one off and I’ve been ok ever since.
As far as side effects go, I was a bit weepy around day 6/7 and I’ve had a few horrible head aches, but other than that it’s been fine.
Tomorrow marks my baseline scan which is to check that my ovaries are quiet and my womb lining is thin. If everything looks good then I start my stimulating drugs, which will force my ovaries to create lots of little follicles which will hopefully have some lovely eggies inside.
Looks like we’re really on our way now!

I’ve had the headaches as well. They’re the worst! How did your baseline scan go? You able to start stims? Let us know how it goes – and good luck!
